Elmore County Public Schools is pleased to announce that registration for new First Class Pre-K classrooms at Eclectic Elementary and Holtville Elementary opens May 9, 2018.  First Class: Alabama's Voluntary Pre-K is part of the Office of School Readiness within the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education. First Class Pre-K provides effective, high-quality early childhood experiences that prepare Alabama's children for school success and lifelong learning.

For First Class Pre-K, the registered child must be four on or before September 2, 2018. Registration is open May 9 – June 8, 2018, and must be completed online. Online registration may be accessed at

Acceptance to the program is through a random selection process which will be conducted on June 13, 2018, in the Elmore County Board of Education Board Meeting Room at 8:30 a.m. and is open to the public. Families do not have to be present to receive a placement.

Elmore County Public Schools will now have First Class Pre-K classrooms in all four attendance areas. Children who are residents of Elmore County may be registered at any of these sites, regardless of school attendance zones. Transportation will not be provided by the school system. Children will not be denied participation based on income, sex, race, color, national origin, or disability. There is no registration fee for the program.

Registration information and instructions are available online at as well as at Eclectic Elementary and Holtville Elementary Schools. For additional information, contact Celeste Tilley, Federal Programs Director for Elmore County Public Schools, at (334) 514-2810.
